one small cloud
hooked on the new moon’s horn
why won’t it let go?

Faces to the Sun
I’m thinking summer today, to counteract the winter scene I’m seeing. ๐
Brown-eyed susans
their faces follow the sun
to the end of summer
Wonders
fox cubs astounded
lightning rips the sky
wonders every day
Alone
alone in the pool
whatโs a bit of thunder—
the odd flash?
Wind
a red dawn
and now that rattling wind
all the scarecrows sigh
Sparrows
shivering sparrows
scrounging in the snowy lane
peck at small stones
Who?
footprints in the snow
up and down the sidewalk
who’s been and gone?
Snow Angels
snow angel girls
brush feathers from their faces
with snow-caked mitts
Wind-watch
the wild wind twists
the tree tops above
our necks get sore

You may have noticed that the address of my blog has changed: I bought an upgrade package from WordPress and this is now treetophaiku.com, so hopefully you won’t be seeing any more ads on this site. ๐
But now that I have the upgrade, I’d better start posting here again. I’ve been feeling swamped this past while with work and all the other tasks life brings, but I’ll try to post more faithfully.
I’d like to say a hearty welcome to Tree Top Haiku’s new subscribers. There are lots of verses in my Archives, whenever you feel like having a look through.
