When A Verse Tells A Tale

Hello and Welcome to all haiku fans — especially to those who have followed this blog in the past. You will see this blog has been inactive for a long time. I stopped writing to fight a battle with leukemia — and thankfully the doctors and I did win this round. Now I plan to start posting here again.
I plan to do a “something old, something new” schedule. I’ve so many haiku scribbled on scraps here and there; it’s time to collect and post them all. and every other day I’ll post one from my Archives.
So here’s today’s verse:
Thanks for visiting.
it fell in the last wind
still the old red barn outlived
the dream that built it
cherry tree miracle
her blossoms burst forth in spring
and produce poems
snow again
such beauty to impress me
yet I sigh
early morning sleet
sparrows huddle on ice-clad branch
sun shines on Palm Beach
A giant topples
twisted, splintered stump displays
its will to live
