Observed early this morning:

jet streak
through the pre-dawn sky
connecting the dots

Headache

sunlight crashes
into my bedroom window
headache morning

the brightness
of the sunrise
lifts me higher

dawn twinks out the stars
leaves shake their raindrops
into the mist

Canada geese
slice the morning fog— calling
but leave us behind

Pastel palette breaks
across a pale blue heaven
toddler’s sunny smile
