Observed early this morning:
jet streak
through the pre-dawn sky
connecting the dots
Observed early this morning:
jet streak
through the pre-dawn sky
connecting the dots
in the twilight
Grandma folds her tired hands
one last time
I’m thinking summer today, to counteract the winter scene I’m seeing. 🙂
Brown-eyed susans
their faces follow the sun
to the end of summer
high pressure system
surrounds some relatives
family picnic drenched
tree swallow
sky diving into
a mosquito cloud
blinding smoke
grass fire escapes custody
found that lost axe head
Hello and Welcome to all haiku fans — especially to those who have followed this blog in the past. You will see this blog has been inactive for a long time. I stopped writing to fight a battle with leukemia — and thankfully the doctors and I did win this round. Now I plan to start posting here again.
I plan to do a “something old, something new” schedule. I’ve so many haiku scribbled on scraps here and there; it’s time to collect and post them all. and every other day I’ll post one from my Archives.
So here’s today’s verse:
Thanks for visiting.
drunkard’s child
finds a forgotten apple
with a bruised cheek
she rubs it with gentle hands
as memories throb
an old owl hoots
filling the misted night
with ceaseless questions
