my sweet peas
bloom on the widow’s side
where they’re needed
flowers
Riotous
in the silence
of the morning frost
the mums dare riot

Faces to the Sun
I’m thinking summer today, to counteract the winter scene I’m seeing. 🙂
Brown-eyed susans
their faces follow the sun
to the end of summer
Holding the Sun
holding up the sun
with all its tiny moons
brave little stem
Echoes of Summer
geraniums bloom
all winter on the window sill
echoes of summer
Sunflowers
roadside sunflowers
leaning away from the rude wind
where has summer gone
Violets Galore
Careful! Don’t break off
the African violet leaves
Grandma always plants them
“The Pearl”
vigorous yarrow
pearly stars in pastel tones
ancient healer
Seasons
child fingers the bud
youth, the velvet rose petals
age gathers the seeds
Lily Petals
white lily petals
does anyone gather them
as they fade and fall?
