child on a swing
twirling herself dizzy
fallen leaves skitter by
Autumn
Riotous
in the silence
of the morning frost
the mums dare riot

Whisper
what whisper
tells the leaves its time
to let go?
Carpet
trees work all summer
to lay at our feet this plush
golden carpet
Dilligence
diligent deer mice
along the train track
harvest the harvest

Grief
in a gray cloak
the sky prepares to weep
the end of autumn
Last Dance
the north wind swoops
to twirl the falling leaves
the last dance
Love of the Prairie — 4
Long Goodbyes
haunting cries of the geese
their long lines of farewell
written in the sky
Shards
shards of broken glass
glitter among the autumn leaves
shattered dreams
Beautiful Pests
flap at the deer, scarecrow
scare them away — those rodents
too beautiful to shoot
