in the spring
cherry blossom dreams
kite strings tugging
This is one verse in my book of haiku, SEASONS OF GOLD, which I plan to publish as an e-book next Saturday. This is the cover design I’ve chosen:

This is one verse in my book of haiku, SEASONS OF GOLD, which I plan to publish as an e-book next Saturday. This is the cover design I’ve chosen:
tiny yellow banners
flung up across our lawn
hostile takeover
fly in the window
its constant buzz sawing
at my sanity
nursing her fawn
the doe’s ears detect
the rustling of mice
fox cubs astounded
lightning rips the sky
wonders every day
he sits by the hearth
when mornings are chilly
hunger shall scold him
“The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold, therefore shall he beg in harvest and have nothing.” Proverbs 20:4
ducklings snuggle safe
in the warmth of mother’s breast
eiderdown pillow
women planting corn
their faces brightened by hope
of golden harvest
this refreshing pond
so soon will yield its ripples
to conquering winds
dark clouds drift eastward
carrying our hopes of rain
to cheer other folks
