sculptors have been
in the pantry the cheese
all Swiss now
Animals
Hearing
nursing her fawn
the doe’s ears detect
the rustling of mice
Wonders
fox cubs astounded
lightning rips the sky
wonders every day
Dilligence
diligent deer mice
along the train track
harvest the harvest

Drifting
silent deer glide
among the willows at the marsh
layers of fog drifting
Noisy Neighbours
curious antelope
watch traffic roar by
neighborhood brawl
Fly By Night
wings over the pasture
moonlight in the hunter’s eyes
the grasses tremble.
Vanquished
poor old tomcat
vanquished by one younger
slinks home, his ear torn
Survivors
where bison roamed free
masters of these rolling hills
spring crocus still blooms
Abundance
field mice scurry over
a hill of harvested grain
abundant blessings
