Oh wow, so sad. Yesterday I felt bad that I only had a dollar bill to give the guy holding a “Veteran Needs Help” sign. But he was grateful, so I guess it was better than nothing 🙂
Thanks for your comment. There are so many different situations that a person hardly knows what to do at times. A friend of mine bought McDonald’s gift books (years ago) and handed them out to panhandlers on the street in Pittsburgh. Some said, “Thanks”; some threw them right back at her, wanting cash for “substances other than food.”
Yes, that’s why I’ve been told (by cynics) that I shouldn’t “enable” those who may be addicts… The thing is, we don’t know their situation! So, I just go by the Holy Spirit–maybe God would multiply my single dollar bill and it would turn the man’s life around 🙂 I’ve heard of the McDonald’s gift books, too…but I’m afraid I’d use them all up on myself! 🙂 🙂
You just never know, but if it”s something you feel to do and it isn’t going to cause your own family hardship, then why not. Just remember that it is a ‘band-aid on a broken leg’ thing. Charity may feed him today, but a person who’s truly homeless really needs a job, permanent source of income — and so many can’t work.

So true–lots of tragedy around. But maybe even a “band-aid” says, “I care”–and that can be huge! Blessings to you ❤
