She’s just learning. 😉
I worked with a teenage girl that didn’t know how to peel apples. Maybe, in my subconscious, she was my inspiration for this poem?
Your mom was home to teach you. This girl’s mom—and mine—worked out all her/my growing up years. I fear there are a lot of young women growing up with no cooking or home-making instructions, expecting to get a degree, a high-paying job, and hire a maid. 😉
My mom worked full time during those years. Saturdays were for laundry, housecleaning, and cooking/baking–which we all worked on together. She didn’t have much down time.
Oops. My apology. My aunt/mom did the cleaning and stuff. I was left to wander at will. I suspect she didn’t really know what to do with me and/or it was easier to do it herself.
Made me laugh! Haute cuisine, for sure 🙂

Maybe. It’s always hard for me to understand young women being so helpless. My mom taught us to cook when we were pre-teens.
